Renewables

Air source heat pumps are becoming an increasingly popular choice for both domestic and commercial clients who are looking to install renewable energy solutions and are suitable for the heating and hot water needs of offices, houses and apartments. Our offices in Cheltenham are heated via an air source heat pump.

Air source heat pumps use the environment to generate 75% of your heating and hot water needs which means that you are significantly less reliant on electricity and are therefore much less vulnerable to the ever rising electricity costs whilst also reducing your emissions and carbon footprint.

How do they work?

Air source heat pumps work by transferring heat absorbed from the outside air to an indoor space such as your home via the wet central heating system to heat radiators, underfloor heating and to provide hot water.

Air source heat pumps are designed to work in cold temperatures and are suitable for a range of homes from small apartments to large detached houses.  Certain air source heat pumps can also work as a cooling system in the summer months.

Air source heat pumps do require a small amount of electricity to operate but will generate 75% of your heating and hot water needs.  They are designed to replace traditional gas and oil boilers on the principle that electricity will remain more stable and therefore cheaper in the long-term.

What are the advantages of using ambient air?

Provides heating and hot water for your home

Suitable for a range of properties both domestic and commercial

One of the lowest investment costs for heat pumps

Potential to benefit from Government incentives

Air Source Heat Pumps

Air source heat pumps are one of the most economical and eco-friendly heating solutions
on the market and help to not only reduce the carbon footprint but also to significantly reduce heating bills.

Air source heat pumps need to be installed outside your property and require a solid base to sit on or a structurally secure wall to be mounted on, they are very quiet during operation.

The advantages are:

  • Perfect for properties that have limited
    outside space

  • Small and compact
  • Suitable for modern low energy or well-insulated properties
  • Compatible with radiators and underfloor heating
  • Minimal ongoing maintenance

Hot Water Heat Pumps

Hot water heat pumps are incredibly efficient and sustainable, using thermal energy to heat
hot water.

This thermal energy can be collected via an
external air duct, or it can recycle hot air from within the room where it
s installed provided there is sufficient ventilation.

The advantages are:

  • Highly energy efficient and reliable
  • Flexible siting options requiring a small footprint
  • Integrated controls
  • Hot water available on demand
  • No additional measurements required on site,
it is a standalone hot water solution
